Redford rages at party girl Paris

Acting legend Robert Redford was less than impressed by socialite Paris Hilton's appearance at the Sundance Film Festival, claiming that the hotel heiress was just there to "party".

Hilton jetted into Utah last week and has spent her time skiing and attending parties.

Festival boss Redford criticised Hilton for using the film festival - which wraps up on Sunday - to promote her profile, rather than celebrate independent movies.

During a panel discussion, the 76-year-old actor questioned why Hilton, 31, had attended and told reporters she "didn't have anything to do with the films".

"What movie is she in? She and her hard-partying, swag-grabbing cohorts have made the festival not much fun," he said.

"There are too many people who come to the festival to leverage their own self-interest."
