Jon Hamm Calls Paris Hilton And Kim Kardashian 'Idiots'
(RTTNews.com) - Jon Hamm, star of AMC's smash hit series "Mad Man" has blasted America's obsession with reality stars and singled out Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Hamm, best known for his leading role on the show as Don Draper, called the pair "idiots" and suggested Americans should reevaluate our ideas about beauty.
"We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered negative. Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated," Hamm told the U.K. edition of Elle.
"Being a fing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly. . . . It's celebrated. It doesn't make sense to me."
He continues on to say that working on "Mad Men" has opened his eyes to an era in which beauty was defined differently.
"I think Christina Hendricks is a beautiful woman, but we live in a culture where the beauty m! odel is significantly different from Christina's silhouette," he explained.
