Paris Hilton's mom turns fashion designer

WASHINGTON, United States of America - It may be the other way around, but Kathy Hilton is following in the footsteps of her daughters Nicky and Paris when it comes to building her own fashion empire.

Kathy, a former actress-turned-hotelier and now designer says, "You don't have to spend a fortune to look beautiful and feel sexy."

She launched her collection last May 5 at Nordstrom, followed by a collection display at The Grove, Los Angeles.

Paris modeled her mom's outfits; Kyle Richards Kathy's sister and star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was there to model, too.

In an interview with Extra, Kathy says that her collection will also be available at Saks, Neiman Marcus, and 300 specialty stores all over the world.

It has received mixed reviews, though.

Holy Moly! says the collection is "as terrible as you'd imagine."
