KseniyaSobchak, once memorably described by the New York Times as the "Russia's answer to Paris Hilton", has been arrested in anti-Putin protests in Moscow, according to tweets from the socialite herself.

Due to her family connections (her father was essentially the mentor of incoming President Vladimir Putin) and glamorous lifestyle as a TV host, Sobchak's support of the anti-Kremlin protests has become high profile.

Putin returned to the Russian Presidency on Monday after a controversial reelection, and a number of prominent opposition leaders have been protesting in central Moscow since then, resulting in some violent scenes.
